Step Into Leadership: INPS Board Elections & Call for Candidates
Posted 3 days ago by Diana Smith
Dear INPS Members,
Thank you for your patience as we worked through recent delays. We are excited to share that the Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society is now ready to move forward with elections for new members of our Board of Directors.
Serving in a leadership role with INPS is a meaningful opportunity to help shape the future of nurse practitioner practice in Iowa, support your colleagues, and contribute directly to advocacy, education, and professional growth across the state. We strongly encourage members who are passionate about advancing the NP profession to consider stepping into leadership.
We are currently accepting names and short professional bios from members interested in running for the following open positions:
-
President-Elect
-
Treasurer-Elect
-
Northeast Representative
-
Southeast Representative
At present, the Northeast Representative also oversees the Membership Committee, and the Southeast Representative oversees the Legislative Committee. These committee responsibilities are not necessarily fixed to those roles and may be adjusted based on interest, experience, and organizational needs.
Members interested in having their name placed on the ballot must submit their name and short bio no later than Tuesday, January 6 at noon, so that elections may open as planned on Wednesday.
Elections are intended to open on Wednesday, January 7, and close on Sunday, January 11. Please send your self nomination and bio to: past-president-elect@iowanpsociety.org
Please note that individuals elected to a board position will be expected to attend the upcoming INPS meeting on January 31 in Des Moines to begin their new leadership role (expenses covered, further details provided after election).
If you have questions about the responsibilities of a board position or the election process, please feel free to reach out to Diana, our Past President, who would be happy to provide guidance.
We value the voices, perspectives, and leadership of our members and hope you will consider lending your expertise to the continued success of INPS.
Sincerely,
Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society Board of Directors
