Connect with us

We’re Going Virtual!

Posted almost 4 years ago

Way way back during pre-pandemic times, the INPS Board had a brainstorming session and decided that the “theme” for this year’s conference would be related to the fact that 2020 is “The Year of the Nurse” (in celebration of Florence Nightingale’s 200th birthday). Little did we know then about the impact that 2020 would have on the nursing profession.

And given that we are nurses, we aren’t letting that stop us.

We’re putting our “can do it” attitude to work and taking everything you love about our annual conference VIRTUAL! The conference will still take place on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 12 and 13, but instead of being in Des Moines, it will take place wherever you can connect to the internet.

We feel this decision is the best choice for your health and the health of our presenters and it has also allowed us to think about this event with fresh ideas. Speaker sessions, networking, and exhibitors will all transition to an online format. Attendees will still be able to ask questions and interact with speakers during their sessions, and this year, we’ll create networking hot spots that will each get their own “Zoom Lounge” that guests can visit to chat with others and get advice from peers.

Fan fave, Margaret Fitzgerald, will join us online for three educational and fun-filled hours of great content. We’ll also welcome David Schonfeld, Director of the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement who will be able to share some timely insights about our world today. A more detailed agenda will be sent soon.

As an added bonus, attendees who purchase their ticket at least a week in advance of the conference will receive a care package in the mail filled with fun swag. New this year: Attendees will receive recordings of the sessions so you can review them if you want to go back and listen again.

For those of you who haven’t been able to attend our conferences in the past due to time or financial constraints, we hope this virtual conference will be an option for you. Our ticket prices will be reduced and you don’t have to travel!

More information and a link to register will be sent soon!

This is fantastic! I was afraid it might be cancelled with the ongoing concerns of the pandemic. Thanks for being flexible!

Wonderful! I am a new student member this year and in the first year of my FNP program. I am excited to attend and network with others online!
