Title: Intrauterine System (IUS) Product Overview and Placement

Short description: This interactive, live demo session will provide an overview of the mechanism of action, appropriate patient selection, contraceptive counseling, and review of updated US guidelines applicable to use of Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC).

Learning objectives:

Attendees will: 

• Review mechanism of action, important safety information, warnings, and precautions
• Identify current guideline recommendations for contraceptive counseling and patient selection
• Review current literature supporting current US guidelines and practice recommendations on provision of IUSs
• Participation in a hands-on facilitated demonstration of interval loading, placing, and removal
